Happy Birthday 2 ME!! Thanks JORD!

Two facts about me, I am a lover of anything unique and I love a great piece of jewelry! So just imagine my shock and pure excitement when I was asked to review a watch for JORD! For those who don’t know what JORD is, I will tell you! JORD is a watch company based out of St. Louis, MO, they make all of their watches out of wood! How cool is that?!

When I first saw JORD's collection at the Midwest Influencer Network Blogger‘s Lounge a month ago, I was immediately intrigued by the creativity and craftsmanship of their watches. I just knew that one of these watches would be on my wrist in the near future!

Fast Forward: The week of 04/14 I received an email, stating how my blog was perfect fit for the JORD brand! I literally danced in my chair (I would have ran around the room but I didn’t want to scare my students lol)! After receiving a list of watches to choose from, I was faced with one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make in my adult life thus far! I narrowed it down between the Ely (Cherry), Sully (Cherry), or Fieldcrest (Zebrawood & Maple). After 2 hours of going back and forward between the three, I went with Ely (Cherry)!

I expected the watch to come sometime the following week, so I was surprised to find a little package waiting for me on my birthday (April 19th by the way). As soon I opened the box I fell in love with this watch! The best birthday gift ever!!

It’s so versatile and fashion forward!

It fits perfectly on my small wrist! Your watched can be sized before it's shipped!

I am so pleased!!

Let Me Tell You About My Best Friends! Pt.2

So after spending some time with my friend SR (Sales Rack) he had me feeling good, looking good, and he saved me tons of money! I just wish I had met him sooner, but now our bond is unbreakable! He’s always there for me in my bad days and when I need some therapy he is always willing to help. One day I went to visit SR and to my surprise I didn’t find anything. I have to admit I was pretty disappointed. I guess he saw it in my eyes, so he whispered in my ear:
"Thrifting"

“Thrifting you say? But isn't that old clothes worn by other people?”

He tells me, “Yes, however you can find some really cute things to help build your wardrobe. Styles are coming back, and thrifting is a cheap way to keep up with the trends.”

Then he told me the 2 biggest secrets of all!

“They have sales too, and Target sends unworn clothes and shoes to the Goodwill!"

"Whaatttt!! Shut up! I have to meet him!!"

 And this happened...

Outfit Deets
Dress: Goodwill (by way of Target)
Scarf: Target
Shoes: Sam Edelman
Sunglasses: Nordstrom Rack

Free Style Friday 3/13/15

Hello All! I am now offering the service, Free Style Friday! How it works, I will take questions throughout the week from friends and followers pertaining to fashion, styling tips, shopping guides, what to wear, etc. I will choose 1 or 2 questions each week and post the answers here on my blog every Friday!

The first question for the week is from my fellow blogger Jill Firns (www.stilettosonsundaymorning.blogspot.com). She asked: " What are your favorite prints to mix during the spring and summer?"

When I think of spring, I automatically think about flowers. Although I am highly allergic to them, they are so pretty and make the cutest prints for clothes (lol). I chose this skirt in particular because the elegance of black and white makes the outfit classy. I have a similar gingham shirt that I have been dying to wear which is a perfect spring item. To stretch the look a little further I added the polka dot clutch. And there you have it!

Be sure to follow me on Instagram @mslulu2u and like my Facebook page Bellâtre Image Consulting on the left.

Keep the questions coming! See ya next week!!

Client Love: Carmen Knowles Testimonial

I met Londen in high school and at some point after I graduated I added her as a friend on Facebook. During the late summer 2014, she began posting about her image consulting business and that she worked with male clients. I was curious about her servictes and sent her a message asked if she worked with female clients as well. She responded that she did and it was during this conversation that I asked what her process was for working with clients. We met for a consultation and I found her to be very knowledgeable as well as inquisitive. She asked a ton of questions to get a sense of my style and what I wanted to accomplish by using her services.
It was really helpful because I am one of those people who loves to shop but will talk myself out a purchase less than two minutes after I fell in love with a piece. Therefore, I have to make many impulse buys that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.  We scheduled a time to do the actual shopping experience at the consultation.

The day of the shopping experience I was a bit worried but once we met at our first store, it felt like I was shopping with one of my friends. She made suggestions and picked out options that fit my style as well as challenged me to try on things that I would have thought was not my style. It was a fun afternoon and I walked away with a few new pieces that I probably would not have purchased had it not been for her guidance.

Overall the experience was amazing! She made it fun and used the consultation to really hone in on my style and even challenged me to step outside my comfort zone.  I didn't feel judged or forced to purchase or try on anything. It was really an exploration of my style and how I could improve it. Now when I shop, I think of the things she shared with me and I am able to incorporate trends with my love of all things vintage and laid back. I also giggle to myself a little because I hear her encouragement in my head to try things out of my normal style.

Would I recommend her? Yes! You will not leave disappointed or feeling like you didn't learn something about yourself or how to really make great clothing and accessory choices.

Pretty In Pink

My bestie got married in Vegas 2 weeks ago and she chose the color scheme of shades of purple and pinks. I chose pink as you can see. I ordered this swing dress from www.boohoo.com. The model on the site looked awesome in it and the whole swing to the dress made me fall in love. I have to admit I was a little nervous about buying a swing dress being that I have hips and a big tush. It could have went both ways, really wrong or really right! I'm proud to say it went really right! I am so happy with the dress, it really flattered my shape. Boo Hoo is now my go to place for the cutest dresses, reasonable prices, and a fast delivery time!

Feature of the Week: Score Slim Over-The-Knee Boots (Leopard)

So maybe 2 weeks ago my boredom had struck it's core and although I was trying to refrain from logging onto any online stores, I COULD NOT take any longer! With the intentions of only doing a little online window shopping (I'm on a budget remember lol), I saw these boots and decided it will be peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the rest of the week. I just had to have them! What first intrigued me was the leopard print (of course) and the fact that they were over the knee boots. The plus was this is an everyday boot, no heel! Score! And to top it off they were $30! I didn't even think twice about it, they were mine!
The elasticized panel on the back and chunky heel make them soooo comfortable!
I just love them! Don't you?

If you are looking for some fabulous shoes and boots and you are on a budget. Check out www.gojane.com. They have it all!

Image is EVERYTHING!!

"As a music artist, image plays a major role. The way you look, the way you feel, and how you present yourself is everything!!" ~Phillip "Dr. Philgood" Graves

I have been styling Phillip Dr. Philgood Graves, a musician from St. Louis, for 2 years. Although I thought changing what he wore to make him more stylish was good enough, I soon found out that it was about his entire image. Anyone can have nice clothes but it is the confidence that you display while wearing them that gives that lasting impression.

I am forever grateful for Phillip being my first client. His transformation has taught me a lot. I found my gift of styling and image consulting through him. We are only going up from here. Who's next?

Wardrobe Revamp

So a little background about myself! I am on a STRICT BUDGET! In the beginning of 2013 I found myself without a job. Although I was worried about not being able to pay my bills, I was more distraught when I realized that I couldn’t go shopping every other week just because! (Yes, it’s that important to me). With my mood changes and weight fluctuating due to the stress of being unemployed, it became depressing to get dressed to go out and have fun. After wallowing in self- pity for a while, I eventually got a grip on life. I realized that having a lot of money is not the determining factor to my happiness or even to creating a great outfit. So had to “revamp” my perception on what style really was.  It’s not about buying new outfits for every occasion, it became clear to me it was all about my creativity. So I tore my closet up! I found things I forgot I had, rearranged it, got rid of things and started back to the basics. I started finding that this shirt went with those pants.  And oh! I could wear these shoes instead of those! Add a scarf, a hat, or a chunky necklace, and BAM a new original outfit!! I call it wardrobe revamping!

Above is an outfit that was revamped by me the only thing added was the kimono and socks which was all together $20.

Skirt: Torrid
