Free Style Friday 3/13/15

Hello All! I am now offering the service, Free Style Friday! How it works, I will take questions throughout the week from friends and followers pertaining to fashion, styling tips, shopping guides, what to wear, etc. I will choose 1 or 2 questions each week and post the answers here on my blog every Friday!

The first question for the week is from my fellow blogger Jill Firns (www.stilettosonsundaymorning.blogspot.com). She asked: " What are your favorite prints to mix during the spring and summer?"

When I think of spring, I automatically think about flowers. Although I am highly allergic to them, they are so pretty and make the cutest prints for clothes (lol). I chose this skirt in particular because the elegance of black and white makes the outfit classy. I have a similar gingham shirt that I have been dying to wear which is a perfect spring item. To stretch the look a little further I added the polka dot clutch. And there you have it!

Be sure to follow me on Instagram @mslulu2u and like my Facebook page Bellâtre Image Consulting on the left.

Keep the questions coming! See ya next week!!

A Reveal for Two

Sometimes in life we become so lost, the not knowing can be very scary, and searching for your purpose can be so uneasy. At times it can make you want to give up, play it safe and stay at that day in and day out, 9-5 job just to get paid. I have become all too familiar with this common struggle especially after starting my own business. It's NOT easy!!! Having this vision and trying to make others see or believe in it can be very challenging. The hang ups and disappointments can make this tough girl cry. This feeling became my reality just last week, the day before I was scheduled to do a transformation photo shoot for my client Carmen Knowles. I was at the point that maybe I should put my business on the back burner and go back to working 2 jobs.

Then Saturday came and this happened...

All of my doubts were pushed aside, stomped, and buried! I saw myself, I saw my vision, I saw my purpose again! Just seeing Carmen step out of her comfort zone and embracing her new look confirmed exactly why I started my business. So with that being said, I'm here to help others, to push them to new heights and to help illuminate their confidence. I want to thank Carmen so much!! By having the opportunity to help you was two-fold, I was able to help myself and remember my reason for doing what I do!!! Thanks for going on this journey with me. I am extremely happy and excited to continue to see you flourish.

Wardrobe Revamp

So a little background about myself! I am on a STRICT BUDGET! In the beginning of 2013 I found myself without a job. Although I was worried about not being able to pay my bills, I was more distraught when I realized that I couldn’t go shopping every other week just because! (Yes, it’s that important to me). With my mood changes and weight fluctuating due to the stress of being unemployed, it became depressing to get dressed to go out and have fun. After wallowing in self- pity for a while, I eventually got a grip on life. I realized that having a lot of money is not the determining factor to my happiness or even to creating a great outfit. So had to “revamp” my perception on what style really was.  It’s not about buying new outfits for every occasion, it became clear to me it was all about my creativity. So I tore my closet up! I found things I forgot I had, rearranged it, got rid of things and started back to the basics. I started finding that this shirt went with those pants.  And oh! I could wear these shoes instead of those! Add a scarf, a hat, or a chunky necklace, and BAM a new original outfit!! I call it wardrobe revamping!

Above is an outfit that was revamped by me the only thing added was the kimono and socks which was all together $20.
